Schneider Electric Senior Customer Support Engineer, Japan (Software) in Tokyo, Japan

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing level 2 technical support for WonderWare and Citect brands, including mobile platform software. Customers, distributors, and system integrators are major submitters of support request. The daily support activity includes responsibility for covering the phone queue during the normal business hours.

  • Researching cases and interfacing with product development, product management, and technical support engineers in other office locations.

  • Delivering training to customers, distributors, and system integrators.

  • Writing knowledge objects, tech alerts/notes, utilities.

  • Active participation in various prioritization meetings as required.

  • Presentations, product demos, training involved with internal customers (peers) and customers (such as at the Tech Support Symposium).

  • Customer site visits to solve the issues or to provide consultancy services

  • Other duties as required.


  • Minimum of 5 years of technical support or project delivery experience.

  • Domain experience in one or more the following areas

  • Mobile platform Application, WinCE and Android preferred

  • HMI / SCADA, MES or Mobile solution

  • PLC installation and programming

  • Factory Automation

  • Factory operations

  • Systems Integration

  • Software development

  • Desired software products experience.

  • IntelaTrac

  • InTouch 10 or higher

  • System Platform 3 or higher

  • Citect SCADA

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science field.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary for handling key accounts.

  • Good knowledge of SQL server database and SQL languages.

  • Software development experience (preferably Microsoft Visual Studio environment using C, C++, C# or Visual Basic).

  • Computer networking experience ( installation, configuration, setup and troubleshooting). Usage of sniffers and similar

network diagnostics.

  • Previous experience with .NET Framework is an advantage.
