Johnson Controls Manager, Global Engineering Project Management - GPD - Tokyo - Japan - JCH in Tokyo, Japan


This position will lead va rious Engineering Excellence project. The first project will be VRF/PAC/RAC System Testing Standardization project. The qualified individual must be self-directing and able to work under virtual supervision (work site may be distant from supervisor), leading people and projects across all JCH locations.

Principle Duties:

  1. Standardized test procedures across locations, start from VRF product at Shimizu/HAPQ/WUXI

  2. Understand acceptance standards (may vary by market and tier)

  3. Define test standard change control process (associate with Engineering Change Control process) and setup up control board

  4. Lead the planning and implementation of project

    1. facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables

    2. define project tasks and resource requirements

    3. develop full scale project plans

    4. assemble and coordinate project staff

    5. manage project resource allocation

    6. plan and schedule project timelines

    7. track project deliverables using appropriate tools

    8. provide direction and support to project team

    9. constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders

      1. present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions

      2. implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

      3. project evaluations and assessment of results


    1. 10 years of experience and demonstrated results leading cross-function/location Projects, may exceptional if meeting other criteria outstandingly

    2. Balance between Performance-oriented and People-oriented.

    3. Ability to influence across a matrix organization without the benefit of direct reporting relationships. Candidate must be well organized and capable of managing numerous competing priorities. Excellent people skills with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships across a matrix, multi-cultural organization.

    4. Degree in Project Management discipline is preferred.

    5. Willing to travel 30 %, and possibly live in other sites than origin for a period of time, supporting the work outlined above.

    6. Fluency in English is required.
