Job Description

The Education Services Advisor is a key component to the overall success and delivery of all training requests from JDA Education Services in the APAC region and with added focus for the Japan market. The role will support the generation and development of education business opportunities as well as the managing of training delivery and logistics. The candidate is also expected to engage directly with customer to promote, sell and upgrade the current JDA Services offering.

This is a full-time position within JDA Software Japan Co., Ltd located in Tokyo and will be reporting to the Education Services Partner.

JOB DESCRIPTIONBusiness Development (60%)

  • Actively conduct lead generation activities to maximize market exposure and identify opportunities, whilst ensuring appropriate follow up and qualification of prospects/leads.

  • Work the Retail, Manufacturing and 3PL/Distribution verticals in Japan and cover as many contacts as possible

  • Qualify leads via the phone, web, email and direct mail campaigns

  • Generate suggested target marketing lists for discussion and agreement with Education Services lead prior to any direct marketing communications, promotional campaigns and events

  • Actively participate in the formulation of new Education Services promotional campaigns for marketing JDA Education Services’ products and services in order to secure new opportunities in our existing customer base

  • Identify and qualify the customer training needs, timelines, business issues and obstacles for hand off to the Education Services lead

  • Make recommendations to customers on appropriate JDA Education Services product and services options

  • Participate in the opportunity reviews and reach out and collaborate with the appropriate Education opportunity owners in the assigned accounts

  • Support achievement of regional quarterly booking targets

  • Track all relevant activity in salesforce.com (including call activity, lead qualification details, lead pipeline, opportunity pipeline, etc.)

  • Assist in SOW and proposal processes

  • Provides support for building customer communication plans from JDALearn for example harvesting past training history/transcripts and leveraging customer relationships

  • Take customer calls, respond to JDALearn inquiries, and initiate phone contact with customers regarding JDA education services

Admin Support (30%)

  • Support coordination and administration for Education training courses in Japan region

  • Works with Education Managers / Regional Leads to ensure LMS course schedule information is complete and accurate by cross referencing training schedules with rosters, calendars, content readiness information

  • Provide support for Education Architects / Instructors, Education Managers/Regional Leads, and LMS Team for delivery of training by coordinating resources and logistics needed for training events (e.g. training room booking, catering booking, staffing)

Financial Support (10%)

  • Monitor the forecasting of bookings and revenue

  • Monitor costs and margin achievement for training services and deliverables

  • Support Regional Lead with reconciliation/updating of revenue forecast

Required Skills

  • Skilled and comfortable at reaching business contacts sourcing new business leads via both warm leads and cold calling and outreach within our existing customer base

  • Able to communicate and build relationships with our existing customer base

  • Basic knowledge in lead management processes and experience in contact management software, SFDC is a plus/advantage

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • A track record of achieving results and driven to achieve quality results

  • Understand the software/IT industry and software training services (beneficial)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in active listening, effective telephone skills

  • Fluent in both English and Japanese

  • Additional language skills are a plus (e.g. Mandarin, Korean)

  • Good usage of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software

  • Basic business finance skills beneficial
