IHG Director of Human Resources - ANA InterContinental Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan

ANA InterContinental Tokyo has a prime central location, close to the Tokyo Tower and not far from the shopping district of Ginza. The hotel comprises of 844 Rooms and Suites, 26 banquet spaces, 12 Restaurants and Bars including the 2 star Pierre Gagnaire - we are currently looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our high performance team.

As Director of Human Resources you'll be an key member of the hotel's leadership team, committed to delivering on our people initiatives and building individual and organisational capability. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the hotel leadership team, you'll be responsible for managing and coordinating all facets of the Human Resources function as well as the leadership of the hotel’s large Human Resources team. As a Human Resources professional, this role drives organisational capability, systems and processes and relationships, ensuring winning becomes a habit through a high performance, quality culture.

You will have demonstrated experience in partnering with senior business leaders and managers, providing a wide range of advice and support on employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development and workforce planning.


Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. 10 years' progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to the position.

Technical Skills and Knowledge - Sound technical knowledge and experience as an HR Generalist and/or operational HR role with proven track record of developing value added HR solutions. Good experience and knowledge in HR best practice, Organizational Change, HR strategy development and application and Performance Effectiveness. Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills. Proven experience with organizational and business understanding by the demonstration of partnering with the business to understand Business priorities, principles and practices. Experience in Project Management and ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to either influence or support a project or initiative. Effective communication skills both verbally and written. Organizational and interpersonal skills with a strategic, logical approach.
