Role Summary:

 Responsible, under the global Project Director’s supervision, for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction and communications through management of project related activities and resources

Essential Responsibilities:

 Provides project leadership throughout the LNTP phase (4Q2017 – 2Q2018) and Contract execution phase (3Q2018 – 3Q2022 commercial operation date onwards)

 Builds long-term relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g. SPC/EPC, consortium partner, network analysis consultant, electric utility, project financing arranger)). Communicate efficiently with customers and all stakeholders in Japan

 Leads the project SPC/EPC’s management in coordination with Grid Solutions’ cross-business/regional teams

 Builds, supports and supervises an HVDC execution team for requested competencies in Japan

 Seeks solutions resourcefully, collaborating with broad GE team (e.g. GGO, EFS)

 Contribute to development of a strategic business plan of the project from the company’s perspective

 Presents to top leadership in the business solutions on technical discipline and business solutions


 Bachelor's (and Master’s) degree from an accredited university or college in electrical engineering, business administration and/or relevant study areas

 Minimum of 5 years of experience in EPC projects and/or business leadership

Desired Characteristics:

 Strong oral and written communication skills in both Japanese and English. Make tough calls internally and externally, while providing problem solutions

 Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, by which she/he builds trust

 Demonstrated ability to express the company’s position and to understand customer needs/business opportunities

 Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

 Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

 Established project management skills

 Good knowledge of HVDC (nice to have or through specific training to be organized)
